Front and Rear PDS Shocks
Progressive Damping System and was patented by Öhlins Racing in the mid 90´s. The general idea was to insert an extra secondary piston above the primary piston that would enter a second cylinder in the top of the shock absorber at the end of the suspension travel. This would eliminate bottoming and guarantee a smother stop when landing hard on the track.
Shock absorbers with the PDS function. The second, smaller piston enters a cylinder at the end of the suspension travel which decreases the chances of bottoming. |
